A Classic Summer Wedding Day at Indian Hills Country Club

From the moment Kayleigh and her mom Nancy booked me I was so excited to see this June wedding day come to life! Kayleigh has such great taste and I knew this classic and OH so fun day was going to be a good one. She and her fiancé Wilson met in college at The University of Alabama and still reside in Tuscaloosa (Wilson’s home town) so it was very fitting to get married in the town they call home and hold all of their memories. Our ceremony and reception venues, Christ Episcopal Church and Indian Hills Country Club, were already special to them so adding their wedding on to the list of memories made my sentimental heart so happy!

Kayleigh had such a classic look in mind as we were creating her day, which you can never go wrong with. What started as a more neutral palette turned into adding in pops of color that gave the reception a bright, cheerful, feminine feel and I adored it! We tied in sage green through her linens and then pops of hot pink in the flowers – a stunning combo! With a mix of indoor an outdoor space for the reception, a lively band, fun foods (hello wings and a taco bar), and a fun wedding party this summer night was a dream. Brittany Jayde Photography captured every detail so beautifully, as she always does!

One of my favorite details of the night, however, were the cakes! Kayleigh’s 5 tier bride’s cake with cascading florals sat atop a beautiful textured linen and in front of a gorgeous floral wreath and arrangements. It was a showstopper as soon as guests walked in! Wilson’s cake featured his three favorite things – Alabama, golf, and their pup Winston. And it also featured my favorite thing – a chocolate overload hehe. Pen and Pastry’s cakes are always to die for and these two were no exception – both looks and taste!
