Bailey and John are truly one of the sweetest, funniest couples and made our planning season such a joy! Our time together began just over a year from the big day on June 15th and I truly enjoyed every second with them. They met in college at Mississippi State and are both from out of state as well so I couldn’t have been more excited to help make this wedding weekend in Birmingham a memorable one!
Bailey and John knew from the beginning that they wanted both an indoor ceremony and an indoor reception (hello Alabama summer heat) and in Birmingham that typically means a flip. Thankfully they fell in love with The Barn at Shady Lane, lovingly known as the fastest flip in Birmingham and a rock star venue/team. Aside from the indoor space the other goals was to celebrate big. And we did just that! A morning of singing and dancing for the girls, the sweetest first looks, incredible personal vows, lots of nods to their alma mater, and a packed dance floor courtesy of my guy DJ Mason. I love a party and their people did not disappoint!
As we began the design, Bailey wanted to stick with lavender as her primary color for our decor and florals. I can’t express how excited this made me! We decided to add in lavender with our highboy linens, floral touches, the stationery, and the small details of the day. Just over a month out, Bailey decided she wanted a little more color in the flowers and our friends at Simply Sage made it happen. Bailey and John were married in front of a beautiful deconstructed arch that guests were able to use as a photo op the rest of the night. But my favorite design element had to be the stunning floral ring surrounding the chandelier and the flowing ceiling draping. Both gave such a wow factor and gave such a softened, romantic feel to the space. It was perfect! And it can not be overlooked that we had a live painter, Joy Varnell, who did the most INCREDIBLE job painting their ceremony. What a keepsake!
Mr. and Mrs. Wiggins, you are the best!! I am so honored to have been a part of your story and this incredible day!
