A Colorful Spring Garden Party Wedding at The Farrell

Being Skiles and Max’s wedding planner was nothing short of an honor and a joy! Skiles and I connected through a former CSE bride (shout out to my girl Anne-Thomas!) and I knew she was going to be a funnn fun bride. She stole my heart immediately with her desire for a colorful day and continued to steal it with every intentional detail we incorporated throughout their wedding. 

Skiles dreamed of a garden party vibe, indoors, with a neutral base where the colorful florals and details could shine. The Farrell in Homewood is a gorgeous blank slate and was the perfect venue to create the design we wanted! It served as our ceremony and reception space. The ceremony featured the most beautiful floral arrangements on columns situated around Skiles and Max and multiple rattan pendant lights hung above them. This was easily one of my favorite pieces of the day’s design! After the ceremony, guests headed next door to their sister venue, Christopher Glen, for cocktail hour while we got things ready for dinner and dancing at The Farrell. 

As mentioned, every detail of their day was SO them and so perfect. As guests came back over for the reception, they were greeted with long tables full of candle light, colorful floral bud vases, and colorful napkins. ALL of the paper for the day – invitations, signage, menus, table numbers, etc – was designed by the groom!! Max is a graphic designer and I loved that he was able to add his touch to their day in such a special way. Skiles is a BIG boba tea lover and was adamant on having it involved in their day. We chose to do two bars – a regular bar and a boba bar! Guest loved this so much and even had the opportunity to make a boozy boba for an extra fun twist. After a delicious seated dinner, guests danced the night away with Skiles and Max, snap photos in the photobooth, and enjoyed some cake and late night pizza. You guys – the cake! We repurposed the ceremony set up around the cake and it was a show stopper. Another favorite element of the design for me! 

Skiles and Max, you were truly a DREAM couple and I am filled with gratitude and joy every time I see photos of this day. Thank you thank you thank you for entrusting this monumental moment in your lives with me. Cheering your marriage on forever, Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman!
